Am 18. Januar 2024 erhielt Midori den Brandeis Creative Arts Award im Slosberg Music Center der Brandeis University von Präsident Ron Liebowitz. Im Anschluss an die Preisverleihung fand ein Konzert mit der Pianistin Ieva Jokubaviciute statt. Mit dem Brandeis Creative Arts Award werden herausragende Leistungen in der Kunst sowie das Leben und Werk bedeutender, aktiver amerikanischer Künstler gewürdigt. Nach einer Unterbrechung während der Covid-Pandemie wurden Midoris Aktivitäten im Rahmen des International Community Engagement Program außerhalb Japans im Dezember 2023 mit Präsentationen und Auftritten in Laos wieder aufgenommen. Midori wurde von der Geigerin Ellinor D’Melon, dem Bratschisten Hiroki Kasai und dem Cellisten Alejandro Gomez-Pareja begleitet, die eine Woche lang in Schulen, Bildungszentren, Krankenhäusern und Kulturzentren in Vientiane, Muang Xay und Luang Prabang auftraten. Im Rahmen des Kulturaustauschs beschäftigten sich die Mitglieder des ICEP-Quartetts auch mit traditioneller Färberei und Papierherstellung, führten Interviews mit Schüler*innen, nahmen an Zeremonien teil und tauschten Geschichten aus. On January 18, 2024, Midori received the Brandeis Creative Arts Award at the Slosberg Music Center of Brandeis University from President Ron Liebowitz. After a hiatus during the Covid pandemic, Midori’s International Community Engagement Program activities outside of Japan resumed in December 2023 with presentations and performances in Laos. Midori was joined by violinist Ellinor D’Melon, violist Hiroki Kasai and cellist Alejandro Gomez-Pareja for a week of activities at schools, vocational centers, hospitals and cultural centers in Vientiane, Muang Xay and Luang Prabang. The cultural exchange also saw members of the ICEP quartet engage in traditional dyeing and paper making, interviews with students, observance of an alms giving ceremony and a storytelling session.
