五嶋みどり アーティスト・ティーチャー・アワードを受賞

2025年3月25日 五嶋みどりは、献身的な社会貢献活動と先駆的な教育プロジェクトが高く評価され、2025年度全米弦楽指導者協会（ASTA）のアーティスト・ティーチャー・アワードを受賞しました。 五嶋は受賞に際し、「教育は私の人生とキャリアを支える柱の一つです。これまでに培った知識を共有し、それぞれの芸術的表現を見つける手助けをすることで、未来の音楽家たちの意欲を高められると信じています」とコメントを発表しました。

2024 ICEP in Nepal

In December, Midori joined three young colleagues, violinist Ellinor D’Mellon, violist Charlotte Stickel and cellist Annette Jakovcic, on a musical tour of Nepal under the auspices of ICEP, the International Community Engagement Program. Through collaborations with 19 local organizations in Kathmandu and Pokhara, the ICEP musicians were able to spend time with groups of schoolchildren and with their teachers, with patients and medical personnel in hospitals, and also with residents of several shelters and care facilities. 2024 ICEP in Nepal

Im Dezember unternahm Midori zusammen mit drei jungen Kolleginnen, der Geigerin Ellinor D’Mellon, der Bratschistin Charlotte Stickel und der Cellistin Annette Jakovcic, eine musikalische Tournee durch Nepal unter der Schirmherrschaft von ICEP, dem International Community Engagement Program. Durch die Zusammenarbeit mit 19 lokalen Organisationen in Kathmandu und Pokhara konnten die ICEP-Musiker Zeit mit Schülergruppen und ihren Lehrern, mit Patienten und medizinischem Personal in Krankenhäusern sowie mit Bewohnern verschiedener Unterkünfte und Pflegeeinrichtungen verbringen. Das ICEP-Quartett führte Werke von Beethoven, Saint-Saëns und Rossini auf und wurde im Gegenzug von verschiedenen Gastgebern mit nepalesischer Instrumentalmusik, Liedern und Tänzen sowie mit geselligem Beisammensein bei Essen und Gesprächen empfangen. Midori & Friends will hold its 33rd anniversary GALA at the Essex House in New York City on Monday March 31st. For 32 years Midori & Friends, founded by Midori, has invested in over 320,000 students in NYC by providing tuition-free music education programs, igniting positive social change in generations of students and their families.

Following two performances with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and conductor Jonathan Nott in Geneva, Midori joined the orchestra and conductor for a tour of Spain with concerts in Madrid, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Tenerife and Las Palmas.
